Who are the FAEF promoting committee?
Lorenzo Sparviero
After obtaining his degree in Economics and Business in 1968 and having worked one year as Assistant for Professor Enzo Spaltro in
Chair of Work Psychology at the Catholic University of Milan, he was employed by the Montedison group - the main Italian chemical
industry - in the area of the Human Resources Development. He worked for over 20 years in this company, from 1977 as company
executive and, after a few years, as responsible of the European Public Affairs and Associations. In 1991 he went to Enichem- the chemical business of the ENI - as Head of the European Public Affairs and Associations and moved to Brussels, where he lived until 1997, when he came back to work at the Enichem Headquarter in Italy as head of the European Public Affairs and Communication.
After retiring, he started new activities and experiences in the area of volunteering: assistance (Caritas) and adult education (Associazione Culturale Nova Cana). In July 2015 - concerned about the ‘emergencies that put at risk the very unity of the Europe for the rising tide of populism - he decided to start the web page "Stati Uniti d'Europa entro il 2020", which reached in a short time 900 followers. Few months later, "United States of Europe now!" was funded as a merge with two other pro Europe web pages. In November 2016, this web page already reached the remarkable target of 12500 followers.

He actually works in insurance. He is a writer and he published, in 2014, a pamphlet: ‘Krisis’ about the causes and the possible solutions to the actual crisis of the western world, tracing back its origins to a deep cultural failure of our societies, not only our economies.
He has been active for several years in non-profit organisations involved in culture, sports, politics. He decided to involve himself in such a great adventure, the launch of Stand up for Europe, since he didn’t accept to see the results of many years of fought be ruined by the raise, once again, of nationalism, populism, xenophobia and fear. It appears to him that only an open and united society, no more divided by boundaries, but respectful of our different cultures and traditions, will allow our Europe to be free and prosperous. He loves to relax in nature, having a break between forests and mountains.
